Kelly Stafford, wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, announced Sunday that she was at home after her surgery to remove a brain tumor earlier this week.

Stafford said that she had been diagnosed with Acoustic Neuroma earlier this year after experiencing vertigo from January. The tests revealed the tumor and she announced it on April 3.

She posted on Instagram that her surgery was supposed to last six hours, but it took 12 hours because the doctors discovered an abnormal vein. However, she wrote that her doctor knew the problem well and wrote an article about it.

Lions General Manager Bob Quinn said Matthew Stafford had asked for the protection of his family's privacy. Kelly Stafford has published numerous publications on social networks, claiming that she had been overwhelmed by the support received since she had made her diagnosis public.
