CBS also announced the start of the main shoot of the series in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The original story is below:

The adaptation of The Stand by CBS All-Access may have found his Randall Flagg. Collider reports that Alexander Skarsgård of True Blood was chosen to embody the iconic villain.

CBS refused to confirm the report when IGN reached out. If this is the case, it would make Skarsgård the second member of his family to play a major villain of Stephen King, following the role played by his brother Bill in the role of Pennywise in computer movies.

CBS has, however, officially announced several other important members of the cast. As The View reveals on ABC (via Deadline), Whoopi Goldberg, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Brad William Henke and Daniel Sunjata have all joined the cast of this post-apocalyptic drama.

Goldberg plays in the series as Mother Abigail, a blind prophet essential to the struggle of humanity for survival after the devastating plague that swept the world. Adepo is performed by Larry Underwood, a struggling musician and drug addict who finds his true calling after the collapse of civilization.

Teague will play Harold Lauder, a survivor divided between good and evil. Henke will play Tom Cullen, a man with a developmental disability who will become a valuable ally of Mother Abigail's faction. And Sunjata will play the role of Cobb, a soldier trying to contain the proliferation of Captain Tripps, a super mortal.

These new additions join a cast that also includes James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young and Henry Zaga.
