The Columbus Blue Jackets double-overtime victory over the Boston Bruins ended seven straight nights of playoff hockey, and we will not complain.

About last night …

Game 2: Dallas Stars 4, St. Louis Blues 2 (tied series 1-1). This game was delusional towards the end of the first period when, in a 4-on-4 match, the teams regrouped to score three goals in two minutes. Ben Bishop is now 12 in his playoff career after the loss. Production beyond the first line for the Stars no longer seems a problem. Roope Hintz and Mattias Janmark both scored in the first period to lead the Stars to a 4-2 victory over the Blues.

Game 2: Columbus Blue Jackets 3, Boston Bruins 2 (2OT) (Round 1-1). For the second consecutive game, it had to be decided in overtime. The Blue Jackets struggled to be attacked early. 2. Roope Hintz, C, Dallas Stars. After recording a multi-goal game in the regular season (and a total of nine goals), the Finn now has two multi-goal playoff games and is tied for the team leader with a total of four goals.

3. Artemi Panarin, LW, Columbus Blue Jackets. Jarmo Kekalainen, managing director, seems smarter than having kept Panarin instead of trading it by the deadline; The Breadman became the first Blue Jacket player with four goals in one season with his tying goal at 8:03 of the second period, an absurd shot of a seemingly impossible angle.

Dud of the night

We praised Charlie Coyle as one of the best acquisitions in the timelines for trade this season, and he was generally terrific. But the turnaround that led to Panarin's second goal was criminal. You can not make blind return passes in your own playoff zone.

Carolina is one of the most prominent teams in the playoffs at the present time. after losing the first two games against Washington, the Canes have now won five of their last six games.
