From NASA Marking Orbiter March (MRO) spotted an unusual symbol on the surface of Mars – The iconic "Star Trek" Starfleet logo. The MRO captured a series of strange chevron symbols on a Sand dune Martian in the southeastern region of Hellas Planitia.

According to the team, the forms on the red planet were created by wind, lava and dunes. They began as large crescent-shaped dunes surrounded by lava after an eruption before they solidified. When the wind blew over the dunes, it moved much of the sand and finally left "footprints", also called "dune casts", which indicate the presence of dunes surrounded by lava.
The MRO has been exploring Mars since orbit since 2006, capturing some of the most detailed images of its surface. Hope that extraterrestrials with vulcan greetings will follow.
