Star Trek boldly goes to a new mission where only men have gone before. Hanelle Culpepper will lead the first two episodes of the upcoming Untitled Star Trek Jean-Luc Picard, making her the first woman to direct a pilot episode or a first episode of a series of Starfleet in 53 years of existence. The 13 feature films of hiking Universes were also led by men.
Culpepper has made two episodes of Star Trek Discovery on CBS All-Access. She directed the episode entitled Ambition Vaulting in Season 1 and an upcoming episode in Season 2, currently underway on the subscription streaming site.

The still untitled Star Trek series presents Patrick Stewart resuming his iconic role of Jean-Luc Picard, which he played for seven seasons Star Trek: new generation. The new series will follow the iconic character in the next chapter of his life and will be broadcast exclusively on CBS All Access in the United States with simultaneous international distribution by CBS Studios International.
Culpepper recently led several episodes of Counterpart on Starz and episodes of Shooter for the United States in addition to the next NOS4A2 for AMC. Culpepper also participated in major shows on the network, including How to escape murder, Gotham, Criminal minds and the award-winning American crime. Culpepper began her filmmaking career by assisting Academy Award-winning screenwriter Callie Khouri in her first film, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sorority. Culpepper also participated in the AFI Women's Leadership Workshop.
