Star Wars: Did Kylo Ren Kill Grogu After The Mandalorian?

What if Baby Yoda was trapped in the burning Jedi Temple? We already know that he can protect himself from fire with the Force, as he did in “Redemption”. However, this is all speculation. We don’t know where Grogu’s story goes after Luke takes him.

Judging by Disney’s timidity to explore Luke’s post further-Return of the Jedi story, it’s likely that we won’t learn more about his academy for some time to come, especially as books and some shows turn to the era of the High Republic. This means that there will be nearly two decades of Grogu’s life that will likely remain unwritten for the next several years. Anything could happen to Grogu at that point. There is even a chance that Kylo Ren could meet Grogu much later, before the official emergence of the First Order but after its fall and Luke’s self-imposed exile.

But let’s be honest: is Grogu’s time far from The Mandalorian will really stick? From a narrative standpoint, it would be surprising if Grogu and Din Djarin were truly separated for a long time. The bond between the child and his surprised father figure is at the heart of what made the show so successful. Why would Disney want to break with such a captivating formula?

We know there are definitely more seasons of The Mandalorian to come, and with Pedro Pascal on board, the little guy probably will too. Does that mean Luke fires him for some reason? Or for Din to change his mind about leaving the kid behind like he did in season one? These are questions to which we simply do not have the answers yet.

So, will Kylo Ren end the baby story? Probably not, except maybe metaphorically to the extent that the Sequel trilogy pretty much exists in a different universe than what happens in the series. Maybe that will change; after all, it’s still unclear if Moff Gideon is using the baby’s DNA for Emperor Palpatine’s Snoke Project.
