Star Wars Episode 9 News coming in April, but no word on the trailer

It seems that Lucasfilm is preparing to make announcements on Star Wars: Episode IX. The company has confirmed that a panel dedicated to the upcoming film will be held during the Star Wars celebration in Chicago next month.

Lucasfilm's president, Kathleen Kennedy, and director, J.J. Abrams will appear on the panel, but that's all we know for sure. The panel will feature "surprises and special guests", according to the latest episode of the Star Wars Show. It is unclear if any of the actors will appear on the panel or if we will finally have a trailer.

The panel will be held on Friday, April 12 and, fortunately, it will be broadcast live. The episode IX is the latest installment of what is called the "Skywalker saga".

It was originally planned for this film to be directed by Colin Trevorrow of Jurassic World, who had a different vision. You may remember that Abrams had directed The Force Awakens, 2015.

Episode IX had originally been announced with a release date scheduled for May 2019, but Lucasfilm had postponed the film to December following the change of director. It may be for the better, because Disney already has a massive release in Avengers: Endgame coming in late April.

Episode IX brings back Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, while Keri Russell, Dominic Monaghan and Richard E. Grant make their debut as a franchise with Star Wars with the new movie.

Episode IX is not the only one to be revealed during the Star Wars celebration. The new third-person Star Wars game from Respawn, developer of Apex Legends, Jedi Fallen Order, will be officially unveiled at the show – so come see us more often!
