Welcome to 2019, the age of your favorite franchises being redone, restarted or expanded – and your childhood memories being irrevocably altered. Have you ever watched a previous sequel or movie that you like, realizing that this new richness of content dramatically changes your understanding of the canon, the original scenes and the choice of characters? For example, when a voice says, "No one has ever really disappeared," in the trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX – The rise of Skywalker, did you think, "Really? Nobody? Is he already gone? Nobody?!"
