Several Manhattan Starbucks stores closed on Sunday amid protests fears, the company said.
The giant of the coffee chain cited possible protests to justify the closure of “some stores” in the city, according to a statement.
“Out of prudence and with the safety of partners (employees) and customers in mind, local leaders have made the decision to close some stores in the Manhattan area due to the potential protests unfolding today,” said a spokesperson.
The company’s online store locator showed widespread closures across Manhattan. An informant told the West Side Rag that all locations south of 110th Street have been closed.
The stores were to reopen on Monday.
As of Sunday afternoon, no large-scale protests or disruptions were reported in the Big Apple.
Authorities are on high alert following an FBI warning of possible further attacks ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
Out of caution, the NYPD has stepped up its presence around City Hall, Trump Tower, federal buildings and other high-profile locations, The Post previously reported.
