State of emergency in place declared in Tennessee after many floods

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WTVF) – A state of emergency has been declared in Tennessee after widespread flooding and severe weather over the past two days.

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has activated the Tennessee Emergency Management Plan on Saturday.

Governor Bill Lee urged residents of Tennessee to follow all instructions from emergency officials and remain alert to floods.

There are five levels of activation in the Tennessee Emergency Management Plan.

. Currently, Tennessee is at level 3.

Several shelters were opened across Tennessee at that time to allow those who evacuated their homes to have a place to go.
