Steam launches experimental apps to help you better find games

An impossible task?

Steam is full of games. Full of them! Each week, more games can be launched on Steam than any other platform, and Valve intervened with a method to better organize them through an experimental function. So experimental that it's called "Steam Labs".

You hear the murmur of Steam Labs for a while, but Valve launches three new concepts this week as part of the program, all based on curation. The first is "Micro Trailers", which features a quick six-second trailer for games in a Matrix Reloaded So that you can "digest in the blink of an eye".

The second idea is "Interactive Recommender" which exploits the data of your playing time and directs you to other games. Then there's the "Automated Show," a 30-minute video that goes through "hundreds of games" that compromises the most recent list of Steam launches.

In theory, this type of product is advantageous for Valve and consumers. You can choose to disable them if you wish or to introduce you to new games that might interest you, which is a sale for Valve. As long as this stuff does not become too intrusive (99% of the time, my Steam app is displayed on the library page without advertising), I do not think there will be a problem.

You can choose any of these options here.
