Steelers LB dances with his new wife

At some point, linebacker Ryan Shazier of the Pittsburgh Steelers could never walk again.

On Friday, Shazier accompanied Michelle Rodriguez into the alley while they were married in Pittsburgh. And if that was not enough, he even danced with his new wife.

Shazier was rushed to the University of Cincinnati Hospital on December 4, 2017 after a tackle attempt against the Cincinnati Bengals who left him struggling to get moving. Twice later, the Pro Bowler underwent spinal stabilization a few days later. He did not regain the movement of his legs until the following February.

In the days, weeks and months that followed, Shazier took a step past the other in his ultimate goal of returning to the NFL. While paralysis was once a concern in the days following the injury, Shazier was re-taught to walk, drive a car, jog and lift weights.

And you can add walking in the alley and dancing with his wife to this list of achievements.

Shazier will not play in 2019 and his contract was for a minimum wage, which gave him another year to retire from the NFL. The team kept him on the list of players physically unable to qualify simply because, as head coach Mike Tomlin said, "it's Ryan Shazier".

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN contributed to this report.
