Steelers LB TJ Watt responds to lack of DPOY

The AP handed out its annual awards on Saturday evening. Many Pittsburgh Steelers fans tune in to see if linebacker TJ Watt would win the Defensive Player of the Year award. But despite its best efforts, the Associated Press decided to pick Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Both players have had seasons worthy of the award and you couldn’t have blamed the voters if it had gone both ways.

But Watt might think otherwise. He sent the above tweet shortly after the announcement and the meaning is clear. This is the second year in a row that Watt has had an award-worthy season and has been skipped. And for him, it’s personal.
