The Steelers have terminated cornerback Steve Nelson’s contract after two seasons in black and gold.

Nelson, who played six seasons in the NFL, signed with the Steelers as an unrestricted free agent in 2019 with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nelson finished the 2020 season with 48 tackles, including 43 solo saves, nine pass defenses, two loss tackles and one fumble recovered. He also had two interceptions, both against the Philadelphia Eagles when he knocked out Carson Wentz twice.

In his two seasons with the Steelers, he had 109 tackles, 17 pass defenses, three interceptions, two tackles for a loss and two fumbles recovered.
