Steph Curry opens up about ‘fluid’ Warriors’ NBA draft and offseason plans

The Warriors really plan to be a legitimate contender for the Championship in 2021-22.

To make this a reality, they need to bolster the roster during the offseason.

It’s of course nice to own the rights to overall picks # 7 and # 14 in the 2021 NBA Draft.

And it will certainly be great to get Klay Thompson back after the five-time All-Star misses the last two seasons.

“It’s a great position,” Steph Curry said Thursday at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe. “We have a lot of things to work with with potential picks, guys keep coming back [and] I hope to encourage some free agents to come to the Bay and be part of a winning organization.

“I feel like everything is on the table at this point. I know nothing really happens until the [NBA] The finals and you really ask yourself, ‘What are we really trying to do? What do we need?’ I know we stay patient. “

Steph is an integral part of the franchise decision-making process. And in case you’re curious, yes, he’s been in contact with Golden State brass.

“I spoke to Bob [Myers], I spoke to Joe [Lacob], I spoke to the coach [Steve] Kerr over the past two weeks, ”Steph said. “Things are fluid – let’s put it that way.

“It’s just a matter of trying to put the best team out there. And I know we’re all determined to do it. The Finals are rolling on so there’s still time to find out.”

There is certainly a chance that the Warriors will trade one or both of their lottery picks.

But that will only happen if Golden State really likes what it would get in return.

And you can’t rule out that Dubs pick two players and keep them.

Things are a bit quiet on the rumor front right now as teams gather insight and develop perspectives.

But the action is sure to intensify as we get closer to the July 29 draft.
