Steph Curry says 2020 NBA Finals ‘hard to watch’, explains why he did it

If Warriors fans tuned in to the 2020 NBA Finals, it was likely that 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala would try to help the Miami Heat claim the title.

But other than that, the Finals game between the Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers probably wasn’t much fun for Dub Nation to watch.

Steph Curry agrees.

“It was hard to watch, but I did it,” Curry told Jeff Neubarth in a recent episode of the “Callaway Golf Podcast”.

When asked why he watched the final, Curry had a few justifiable reasons.

“It’s a bit of everything,” Curry said. “It’s me who is missing the game and I’m just a fan of the game and just want to watch some good basketball. It’s a bit of scouting, in terms of what we need to do next year to get back to being there. “One of those two teams. It’s a bit of nostalgia too, we’ve been there five years in a row and I know the scenery in Orlando was different, but it’s still the NBA Finals.

“And any basketball fan, whether you are a gamer or a fan, listening to that is good basketball and it gets you a little bit further.”

Iguodala was denied his fourth NBA title, as LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers won the series in six games.

Curry and the Warriors plan to return to the NBA Finals in the 2020-21 NBA season, although those hopes took a hit last Wednesday when Klay Thompson tore his right Achilles in a pickup game in the South. from California.

But the Warriors’ front office turned quickly and was traded for 24-year-old winger Kelly Oubre Jr. to try to fill the Thompson void.

Are the additions of a Curry, Oubre and second draft pick James Wiseman enough to bring the Warriors back to the NBA Finals this season? The two-time NBA MVP is hoping so, as he probably doesn’t want to watch another championship series on TV.
