In the fourth quarter of the Warriors’ 108-101 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at Chase Center on Wednesday night, Steph Curry left the field with a slight limp after rolling his ankle while playing defense.
According to Monte Poole, an NBC Sports Bay Area Warriors insider, coach Steve Kerr said Curry only suffered a minor injury.
The Warriors are off Thursday but host the Clippers again on Friday. Curry was clearly the center of Los Angeles’ defensive game plan, often as a double and triple squad throughout the night. He finished with 13 points at the season low on 5 of 17 shots, just 1 of 6 from 3-point field.
Curry has been a catalyst for the Warriors this season, highlighted by his career record 62 points on Sunday. Without him, the Warriors would be missing their top scorer, player and engine. In eight games this season, Curry is averaging 29.6 points per fight, which ranks second in the NBA.

Andrew Wiggins put on a great 19-point night on Wednesday, but compatriot Kelly Oubre Jr. continued his early season struggles on offense, going 0 for 6 to 3 points and 4 for 13 from field to finish with eight points. Wiggins and Oubre Jr. haven’t shown that they can be consistent enough to transport the Warriors every night.
It has become evident that Curry will have to do the heavy lifting for this team throughout the season. If he runs out of time, the Warriors will have a first test of their depth and courage.
