After more than three decades of marriage, Sonya and NBA greats Dell Curry are going their separate ways.
Parents of three-time NBA champion Steph Curry and 76ers sniper Seth Curry are divorcing, according to TMZ. Sonya reportedly filed for divorce on June 14 in North Carolina, court records show. Divorce proceedings are still ongoing, a court official said on the website.
It’s unclear why the longtime couple broke up. Sonya and Dell, as well as their children, including their daughter Sydel Curry, have not resolved the situation.

Sonya and Dell have become popular devices around the NBA. They are often seen sitting on the court in matching team clothes, cheering on Steph and the Warriors, while also splitting their time to support Seth – who spent periods with the Kings, Trail Blazers and Mavericks before landing. in Philadelphia in 2020.
Dell played in the NBA from 1986 to 2002, and retired as the all-time leader of the Charlotte Hornets in points (9,839) and goals scored by 3 points (929). He is currently a color commentator on the Hornets shows.
Sonya and Dell married in 1988, the same year Steph was born. The couple welcomed Seth in 1990 and his daughter Sydel in 1994.
They have four grandchildren – Steph and Ayesha Curry’s daughters, Riley and Ryan, and their son Canon Jack, and Seth and Callie Rivers’ daughter, Carter. Seth married the daughter of NBA coach Doc Rivers in 2019.

Sonya and Dell first met when they were student-athletes at Virginia Tech, and connected on a recruiting trip for Sonya, who was an all-conference volleyball player for the Hokies.
