Stephen Amell will present his drama series "Talons" in Starz Wrestling Series – Deadline

From (super) hero to villain. Arrow Star Stephen Amell starred in the following series after shooting the eighth and final season of the series on the superheroes of the CW series.

Amell signed for topline heels, An hour-long drama unfolding in the scandalous world of independent professional wrestling, which aimed at a repeat of the eight-episode series at Starz. With him on board, the project received a series of green light and an order of eight episodes.

Written by Michael Waldron (Loki), with Mike O'Malley as a showrunner, heels men and women who pursue their dreams in the world of professional wrestling in a small town. Settled in a close-knit Georgian community, it follows a family promotion as brothers and rivals – one of them played by Amell – the war against their father's legacy. In the ring, someone must play the right guy and someone must play his sworn enemy, the heel (Amell). But in the real world, these characters can be difficult to live with – or difficult to leave.

Amell's Jack Spade is the charismatic villain, or heel, of the Duffy Wrestling Association (DWA). In fact, it is her hard-working owner, her husband and her father who are trying to make ends meet while struggling to realize her impossible dreams. It has the spirit of an artist in the body of a warrior and a Steve Jobs-ian need for perfection – and control. He says that he will do all that is necessary for the DWA to become an empire. Will he go so far as to risk his marriage or his relationship with his brother?

heels was installed at Starz by Paramount Television in early 2017 and was quickly put on the road to a repeat in eight episodes. Later, Starz became the main studio. Lionsgate TV ended up with the recent integration of Starz and Lionsgate's television production businesses.

heels is produced by Lionsgate TV in association with Paramount TV. With Julie Yorn, Chris Donnelly and Patrick Walmsley of LBI Entertainment, Waldron and O'Malley will also be Executive Producers.

It's O'Malley's return to Starz. He was creator / executive producer of The remorse of the survivor, which has been running for four seasons on the premium cable network.

Over the past seven years, Amell has featured CW's drama series Arrow, starring Oliver Queen / Green Arrow. He helped Arrow become a hit and launch a successful Arrowverse franchise for the network. Arrow starts his eighth and last season in CW.

Amell, who also appeared on The legends of tomorrow from DC, The Flash and Super Girl, is taken over by CAA, Leverage Management, and Gary Goddard Agency and Sloane, Offer, Weber, Dern.
