Mets owner Steve Cohen didn’t stop at his statement on Twitter announcing the dismissal of general manager Jared Porter for apparently sending a stream of inappropriate texts to a reporter in 2016.

Cohen explained on the social media platform Tuesday when a user asked him, “Caving to undo culture is heinous, [Porter’s] life was ruined, what’s his path to redemption Mr. Cohen?

“I have no idea. I have a 400 employee organization that is bigger than anyone,” Cohen replied. “No action [have] set a bad example for the culture I’m trying to create. “

Earlier on Tuesday, Cohen announced the layoff by tweeting, “We fired Jared Porter this morning. In my initial press conference, I spoke about the importance of integrity and I meant it. There should be zero tolerance for this type of behavior. “

Cohen addressed his own “Me Too” allegations at his asset management company Point72 before being approved as the new owner of the Mets in October. Several former employees of the Connecticut-based hedge fund filed complaints of discrimination and misogyny last year with the state’s Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities. The allegations sparked concern among some MLB owners when they approved Cohen’s $ 2.4 billion purchase of the franchise, The Post reported in August.
