Steve martin revealed Sunday on Twitter that he had received the COVID-19 vaccine, calling the overall process “as smooth as silk.”

“Good news / bad news. Good news: I just got vaccinated! Bad news: I got it because I’m 75. Ha! Martin told his 8.7 million followers.

“Operation in New York was smooth as silk (sorry for the @BCDreyer cliché!) And put together to perfection by the US military and national guard. Thanks to everyone and thanks to science, ”the actor continued.

When he was pressed by a fan to find out how he got the vaccine because they were having trouble getting one for an older relative, Martin said he registered online and stood in line too.

“I signed up online through a NYC dot gov website (sorry I don’t have the exact site), and queued at the Javits Center,” Martin explained.

He wrote later, “Right now, I don’t have real resections.”

Some side effects have been linked to COVID-19 vaccines, according to the CDC, including pain and swelling in the arm where a patient received an injection.

Martin is not the only star to have recently been vaccinated in New York. Last week, Martha Stewart confirmed she received the COVID-19 vaccine and documented the moment on social media.

“I was vaccinated today in a designated vaccine capsule near the Martha Stewart Center for Living in Mount Sinai Downtown,” the 79-year-old posted on Instagram at the time.

Like Martin, Stewart also stood in line.

“To allay your concerns that I skipped the line, please know that I am in the approved age group for this batch of vaccine and have stood in line with the rest,” said Stewart.
