Steve Sarkisian reportedly interviewed for Auburn post after SEC title game

He was not originally considered the primary target, but Auburn University is now determined to make Steve Sarkisian their next head coach.

After parting ways with Gus Malzahn, an AL.com report surfaced on Sarkisian expects an interview for the Tigers on Sunday after the Southeast Conference Championship game. Auburn wants to win championships and since he failed to achieve the goal with Malzahn, his goal is to remove Sarkisian from Nick Saban’s staff in Alabama.

The Tigers wanted Mario Cristobal, but he ended up getting a bigger contract from Oregon.

Hugh Freeze of Liberty was his next option, but it looks like he won’t budge either.

This draws attention to Sarkisian, who resulted in college football’s best attacking and most balanced squad in the Saban era.

With him in charge, the Crimson Tide has three Heisman Trophy contenders and an offensive line that is the best in the sport.

His success even saw Alabama sign their top class offensive line, four receivers and a double-threat quarterback in the 2021 recruiting cycle for National Signing Day.

Sarkissian was going to get a call, but is he going to Auburn? Tide fans are hoping the program will keep it.
