KNXV Diamondbacks Steven Souza

In his short stay in the valley, Steven Souza Jr. has already had his share of bad luck.

Add a weird sequence during a Monday party to this list.

During an exhibition game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Chicago White Sox at Chase Field on Monday night, Souza was injured in the knee by touching the plate and had to leave the field. The D-backs announced that Souza had been pulled out of the match due to a left knee injury and would be re-evaluated on Tuesday.

Souza, 29, was acquired by the D-Backs during an exchange with the Tampa Bay Rays prior to the 2018 regular season, but he missed a significant playing time in his first season in Arizona, reason for a tense pectoral muscle. He played only 72 games with the D-back last season.

Souza's injury occurred just three days before the opening match of the D-backs against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.
