EXCLUSIVE: After his first Oscar nomination for Threatening, Steven Yeun reunites with A24 in an untitled 10-episode comedy-drama in which he will star with Ali Wong. Launched last week, it created a bidding frenzy with the usual suspects – Netflix, Amazon, FX and Apple among them – all in the mix.

Wong and Yeun are executive producers. The creator-writer-showrunner of the limited series is Lee Sung Jin. He is co-executive producer On Dave and produced the Alex Russell Black List script Lurker and developed Omniverse, pilot for Showtime with Kanye West, Jaden Smith and Scooter Braun. Past credits include FX Pilot Singularity, From Amazon Fact, Netflix Tuca and Bertie and HBO Silicon Valley.

They are keeping the logline a secret for now, but it won’t take long to land, and it will be 10 episodes each lasting 30 minutes.

The series will be the first for Yeun since his beloved Glenn Rhee character was shockingly killed on The walking dead. After a turn praised in the Cannes photo directed by Lee Chang-dong Burning, Yeun performed in the A24 and the Lee Isaac Chung performed threats which drew six Oscar nominations on Monday, including Best Picture. Yeun became the first Asian American to be nominated for Best Actor.

Wong’s TV work includes ABC sitcom American housewife and Black Box, and she starred in the Warner Bros photo Birds of prey.

A24 is increasingly busy in the television space, with Frame, Emmy winner Euphoria, At home with Amy Sedaris and the next one Moon base 8 with John C. Reilly and Fred Armisen for Showtime.

Yeun is replaced by CAA and Principal Entertainment and the group Gotham, Wong by UTA and Hansen Jacobson. Lee Sung Jin is with WME, Grandview and Hansen Jacobson.

Stay tuned.
