Stevie Wonder intends to move on.
The 70-year-old music icon recently opened for an interview with Oprah Winfrey, where he revealed he plans to move permanently to Ghana, a country in West Africa.
“I want to see this nation smile again and I want to see it before I go … to move to Ghana,” the singer said in a clip released by Punch Newspapers. “Because I’m going to do this.”
When asked by Winfrey if he was planning on moving permanently, Wonder replied, “I am.”

“I don’t want my children’s children to have to say, ‘Oh, please love me, please, please respect me, know that I’m important, appreciate me please, ” ”he explained.
In 1994, the “Superstition” singer told a Washington gathering of the International African-American Music Association that he had indulged in Ghana during his visit.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, he said he felt “there’s more of a sense of community there”.
Wonder was born in Michigan in 1950 and grew up to be a Motown music star and pioneer despite being blind.

For his work, he won 25 Grammys and 74 nominations in total. He also won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the song “I Just Called to Say I Love You”, which was used in the movie “The Woman in Red”.
The star suffered a health test just over a year ago, telling viewers at a press conference last year that he was “lucky to have a new kidney” in December 2019 .

“Since being released from the hospital, the nurses have ensured that I take my meds on time and I will take them for as long as I need to, even if it’s the rest of my life. I I feel good. My voice feels good, ”he said at the October conference, according to the Associated Press. “I feel like I’m about 40 right now and I thank everyone for the prayers and the love.”

He then assured his fans that he would let them know if there was anything to fear, urging them not to listen to the rumors.
