“Stranger Things 4” Trailer: Eleven, Jim Hopper WATCH

The final trailer for the long-awaited fourth season of Strange things introduces the audience to a creepy old house called “Creel House”, which appears to have absolutely nothing to do with Gavin Creel. What he has is a dark past. The trailer, which premiered on Saturday at Netflix’s “Tudum” fan event, begins with a family moving in in the 1950s, only to notice some strange occurrences. Cut to the ’80s, when the Hawkins gang burst in looking for clues. Unfortunately, they can’t find a premiere date; we just know it’s 2022. Tick… tac…

It’s the return of Shaven-Headed Eleven, just in time to match Hopper. In the new trailer for Stranger Things 4, we have a flashback to the lab Eleven was created in, where a group of children play under the threatening eye of their “daddy,” Dr. Martin Brenner. Brenner allegedly died by Demogorgon in season one, but in season two a lab worker tells Eleven he’s still there. “Eleven, are you listening?” He calls her in the teaser. Looks like the new season will explore its supernatural origin story, or maybe even involve other psychokinetic children.

Stranger Things 4 now arrives in 2022, according to a Netflix preview. You can watch the initial February 2020 teaser below, where we catch up with the surprisingly undead Russian prison chief Jim Hopper. Based on the captions “001/004” and “002/004”, we can expect at least two more teasers before Strange things finally comes back. Work on the series resumed in September, after a production hiatus in January 2020. Jamie Campbell Bower (Dusk: New Moon), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart), Joseph Quinn (Game Of Thrones) and Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street) are all joining the cast this season as residents of Hawkins with varying levels of goosebumps. No release date yet, just weird, weird vibes.

“Look down, look down, don’t look them in the eye,” Hopper and his fellow inmates should sing in the teaser for Strange things season four. Despite the decor and technological advances (railways above the boats), the teaser plays out like the start of Wretched, and Hopper is our Jean Valjean. Miraculously alive after we collectively mourn him in last season’s finale, Hopper lives his days as a slave of the law in Russia, after, you know, mowing down a bunch of people with a machine gun. It means more daddy David Harbor and more Miami vice with El, but much less hair. Hopper is bald and that’s something we’re all going to have to come to terms with. Maybe that’s why Netflix revealed Hopper’s return in a trailer – he knew we would need time to deal with the loss. And the weather is plentiful. Stranger Things 4 is no longer expected before 2022.
