The survey, conducted by Perkins Coie LLP, began in April 2018 and analyzed 34,000 archival documents and external sources. She conducted 600 interviews, said US lawyer Markus Funk in November 2018. The cost of investigation, litigation and mediation amounts to about $ 7.8 million to count from August 1, according to university spokesman Ben Johnson.
Ohio State faced its first class action suit over Strauss's abuse in July 2018, in which the plaintiffs consisted of four former anonymous wrestlers, claiming that senior officials were aware of Strauss's actions and that they did not do anything. Since then, the state of Ohio has been the subject of several lawsuits related to Strauss. The lawsuits are now in mediation.
After the publication of the report, the university president, Michael V. Drake, apologized to the victims.
"This problem was a place where the university did not take responsibility for our students," Drake said on May 17th.
The State of Ohio continues to provide free advice to anyone affected by Strauss' actions.
Strauss was employed at the university from 1978 to 1998, during which time he served as team physician for 17 male sports sports and as a physician at the Student Health Center.
According to the report, the complaints against Strauss were not brought beyond the sports department and student health services until 1996.
