Strong storms strike western Kansas in the afternoon

[ad_1]

More storms are likely today. Storms on central Kansas will move east and another series of storms will form in the far west of Kansas during the afternoon. The best chance of heavy storms will be in western Kansas where, again, the main threats will be heavy hail and wind gusts, but some tornadoes are also possible between 5 am. and 9 pm After midnight, storms will begin to lose their effectiveness as you head east. The storms are likely to flood into Wichita after midnight and linger in the hours leading up to Monday. A flash watch over the floods continues Monday morning for most of central and eastern Kansas.

The clouds will break Memorial Day, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies across Kansas. The highs will take place in the mid-80s and the breeze will be light.

Another series of strong-to-strong storms will move into central and eastern Kansas on Tuesday afternoon and evening, then we will have a much needed break from Wednesday's rain until the end of the week of work. More storms in the forecast next weekend and beyond.
