BIRMINGHAM, Al. – According to forecasters, strong storms are threatening the south a few days after dozens of tornadoes have struck the region.
The Storm Prediction Center says that a front stretching from south Texas to central Kansas will create a risk of bad weather up in eastern Louisiana on Wednesday.
The threat is moving into the Great South on Thursday. The weather service indicates that there will be an increased risk of storms, including twists from the Gulf Coast of Louisiana to northern Mississippi and Alabama.
Some 40 million people could witness storms.
According to the National Weather Service, at least 41 tornadoes struck from East Texas to Georgia a few days ago. Forecasters say the Mississippi was the hardest hit, with 15 tornadoes confirmed.
At least eight people died in the south.
