Struggling kickers booed by fans

With the Chargers’ starting kicker position up for grabs, no one was able to move the needle on Sunday.

In fact, the screenings were so underwhelming that they received boos from fans attending the team’s Fan Fest at SoFi Stadium.

Michael Badgley went 4-for-7, with his misfires coming from 41, 49 and 51 yards. Badgley managed to make one at 55 yards to complete a two-minute ride.

Tristan Vizcaino finished 4-for-6, missing kicks from 38 and 49 yards. Undrafted free agent Alex Kessman’s day was no better, ending his session 2 on 6.

Sunday’s performance didn’t offer much optimism for those watching, given that incompetent special teams cost Los Angeles a few games last season.

All the kickers have split the amounts over 50 yards so far, but no one has separated from the field when it comes to consistent accuracy.

Still, with a handful of practices and three preseason games, there’s plenty of time for someone to prove themselves to the coaching staff.
