Subaru recalls 1.3 million vehicles in the United States for a brake light problem

DETROIT (AP) – Subaru recalls 1.3 million vehicles in the United States, as brake lights may not light properly.

The recall concerns certain Forester vehicles 2014 to 2016, 2008 to 2016 Impreza and 2013 to 2017 Crosstrek.

Subaru says that cleaning products containing silicone can emit a gas that can seep into the brake light switch and cut off the electrical contact. This may prevent the brake lights from operating, but the brakes will continue to operate.

The builder says the problem does not happen very often. It has only 33 reports in the United States.

Subaru says it discovered the problem. He will reach out to the affected customers and replace the switch.

The recall is made worldwide, but information on the number of vehicles involved and models were not available on Saturday.
