Much to the surprise of, well, everyone, Suicide Squad Star Jared Leto is set to reprise his role as Joker in Justice League by Zack Snyder. Thanks to the filmmaker’s endless teasing, we’re pretty sure the Clown Prince of Crime will take into account some “Knightmare” flashforwards, potentially serving as Batman’s ally as he tries to end Darkseid and Superman’s reign. .
In a recent interview, Leto was asked about his return as the iconic villain, but chose not to reveal too much about what we can expect from the Joker here.
“I may or may not be in the game; I heard the rumors too. It remains to be seen what those plans might be, but we do know that Snyder is hoping he can finish this story. DC Comics publisher Jim Lee apparently offered him the option to do so in comic book form, but if HBO Max Justice League is a success, who knows what might happen!

10. The watchtower
What really sets the Justice League apart from The Avengers is the fact that they’re seen as almost god-like beings, which is understandable when you consider how powerful they all are. With that in mind, it probably makes perfect sense that they have a base that orbits the Earth thousands of miles above.
Not only is this a lovely way to hint at how they’re seen by the general public, but it would also be a visually stunning sight to see on camera.
The superhero team use Boom Tubes to travel between the Watchtower and Earth, and while some might argue that this is too bizarre a creation to work in a live-action movie, can you please really think of a better base for such a larger-than-life team. like the Justice League?
9. Batman Vs. The Justice League
We’re not necessarily talking about an actual “Batman vs Justice League” movie, but a scene like this could be used as a post-credits scene teasing a future story or a clash between the team and the Caped Crusader. What is in the boxes? Secret weapons capable of taking out everything from Superman to Wonder Woman and the Flash.
As a normal man on a team of god-like heroes, you might think that Batman really isn’t that important or even a threat to his teammates, but he’s always ready and willing to take them out if and when they get him. could get out of line and end up using those powers against innocent people.
Honestly, we would be okay with that being just an Easter Egg, but keep in mind that Mark Waid’s “Tower of Babel” actually saw Ra’s Al Ghul steal Batman’s plans to take down the League, and then use it against them. The kind of conflict this could create would be fascinating, and an unorthodox direction to take on an adventure like this.
8. Programming
Zack Snyder’s Justice League used a roster of mostly “New 52” era heroes of the team’s adventures, but we’d definitely like a future reboot to get a bit more adventurous. It goes without saying that Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman should all be there, but which characters should join them?
Well, this time around a Green Lantern is a must (John Stewart, preferably), while characters like Shazam, Black Canary, and Hawkman could easily be used to help shake things up a bit.
That’s not to say we don’t want to see characters like The Flash and Aquaman in action, but they could easily take on smaller roles this time around, giving other heroes the chance to shine. Failing that, a much larger list might be the way to go, but that means some won’t have a lot of screen time.
7. The crime syndicate
There have been a number of different versions of this team over the years, but for the sake of simplicity, we’re going to focus on one of the more recent storytelling-era “The New 52”.
This Crime Syndicate hails from Earth-3, an alternate version of our evil-reigning planet, and they arrive at Justice League reality when theirs is destroyed by a mysterious threat. After sending the team of heroes, the Syndicate remodels things in their own image, and their dynamic proves to be both compelling and horrific.
Seeing how they differ from their counterparts has led to a lot of interesting stories in the comics, and to have faced them against the League in the near future would be just epic.
6. Lex Luthor joins the team
Did we forget to mention that it was Lex Luthor and a team of villains who ultimately took down The Crime Syndicate? Indeed, and that’s what led him to become a member of the Justice League.
After being initially denied entry into the team, Luthor – who found out that Bruce Wayne was Batman – uses this information to blackmail his entry, and the League promises to keep an eye on him in the game. hope to be able to bring it down once and for all in the months that follow.
It would take a while as Luthor needs to be rebooted now Jesse Eisenberg is unlikely to reprise the role down the line, but throwing him into the mix here would create impressive momentum.
5. The death of Batman
In the comics, Batman’s apparent demise comes when he’s forced to break his only rule and use a gun – albeit a space one – to take out Darkseid before he conquers reality. However, the villain destroys him at the same time. This leads to Nightwing taking his place for a while, and it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for Robert Pattinson to take a little time before returning.
After all, we would later learn that Batman wasn’t dead … he was just sent back in time and then had to fight back to the present. There are however ways that could be changed for a Justice League movie; after all, the team could return to find him, leading to a triumphant return tied to a bigger story. Warner Bros. will have to do some serious planning though!
Provided you get it right, this could be a really fun direction to tell the story of the Caped Crusader.
4. Kingdom Come
What if Warner Bros. decides to take a radically different approach to the future Justice League film, and rather than placing it in the present, are you heading towards a much different future for the team instead?
This classic Mark Waid and Alex Ross story takes place in a future where most of the superheroes we all know from the DC Universe have retired and gone. A new generation has taken over, but their failures and shortcomings have led Superman to reform the Justice League to show them how it should be done.
However, Batman disagrees with his old friend’s dated idealism and creates a team to confront the League over their plans for these heroes. Ultimately, they all come together to face a much bigger threat, and we really don’t make this story, well, justice. It’s a beautiful epic story that really deserves a movie.
3. Darkseid
We will see this villain in Justice League by Zack Snyder next year, but it’s only going to be a tease, and Darkseid has yet to take center stage in a movie. One of the most powerful and evil characters in the DC Universe, he hails from Apokolips and uses an army of Parademons in his quest to eliminate all free will from the universe and reshape it in his own image.
It was his arrival on Earth that led to the formation of the Justice League in the “New 52” Universe, and a similar premise could certainly be used in a reboot that brings the team back to basics.
There is so much that Warner Bros. could do with the character, it’s crazy not to have seen him more. Future filmmakers could draw inspiration from countless stories that involve Darkseid, and while Snyder imagined the League fighting him on a desolate and conquered Earth, we’d love to see the team head to Apokolips for an epic, insane battle with him.
2. JLA / Avengers
What are the odds of this happening? Zero. Despite that, do us a favor for a second! Warner Bros. and Marvel Studios team up to combine their Avengers and Justice League franchises would be historic, although that would not happen anytime soon due to the legal and financial complications that such a transaction would entail. However, it is certainly pleasant to ask, “What if?”
A few years ago, there was actually a comic book crossover that saw the two teams meet, and it featured interactions as impressive as Batman and Captain America fighting at a dead end, Quicksilver piloting the Flash and Green Arrow. and Hawkeye testing their archery skills.
Of course, this is all pale in comparison to the iconic image of Superman wielding both Captain America’s shield and Thor’s hammer, so for now we just have to hope and pray!
1. The death of Superman
Haven’t we seen this before? Well, yes and no, and while it’s not technically a Justice League story (it took place in the pages of Superman’s own series), the team played a major role in them. events surrounding the death of this iconic hero during the classic Tale of the 1990s.
As Zack Snyder rushed straight into Superman’s demise, we think a future reboot should tackle a few movies, and maybe after another solo adventure for the hero. In the comics, when the Man of Steel bumps into Doomsday, an epic battle ensues that unfolds across the set of Metropolis and ends with Superman beating his foe but falling in the process.
Snyder likes the source material, but didn’t quite deliver the fight many fans hoped for, and certainly failed to take full advantage of the League’s involvement in Superman’s demise. Heck, Warner Bros. might even let the hero survive this time after getting involved!
