Summary 'American Idol & # 39; Season 17, Episode 13: The Top 10 Unveiled Interrupted by Lionel Richie

[ad_1]

New "American Idol" the results show that it is not an hour or two of filling and results; we have again played the Top 14 as a whole before reducing it to our Top 10.

In fact, synchronization has occurred throughout live production and has certainly resulted in difficult times. For a, Ryan Seacrest gave candidates their results before send them sing.

For a show that relies on an invented drama, they do it totally backwards … leave us hanging while they play while wondering their fate. In addition, he leaves edgy singers a few seconds before they enter the scene.

And then, the production is clumsy, which gives the whole a much less polite show than the one to which are accustomed the faithful of Idol. Has ABC reduced the budget to such an extent that the high school A / V club runs behind the scenes?

It was a crazy night of results, however, with some of our early favorites who failed to get America's vote. One of them was a travesty of justice, Lionel Richie jumped out of his chair and brought the singer straight into the Top 10, giving away his choice right away.

America automatically ranked half of the Top 14, but the last three places were reserved for judges. And after Lionel's impromptu move, there were six interpreters and two places to fill. And let's just say that there are definite surprises along the way.

Be careful, since I am safe at home, I will probably be a little more severe than my colleagues Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.

Only ten will survive in the night, so we'll rank the Top 14 from top to bottom to see which are the four that were not selected and see if you agree with us, that is to say, well do things.

Eddie Island [DANGER]

"Uses Someone", Kings of Leon

An excellent song choice, but it turned out it was too much for Eddie from the very first "Oh". None of that seemed sincere, and he was squeaky and cracked his voice all the way through. The song was simply too big and rather than reorganizing it to fit what he was doing, he was striving and trying to touch it constantly, missing too often. It should have worked so much better. Even Lionel basically told him, yeah, you're done here.

Riley Thompson [DANGER]

"It must be love," Don Williams

While America ranked only in the Top 7, Riley was probably too short, so it should be interesting to see his fate in the hands of the judges. She started very hard to get into the song and she hardly improved as she deepened in the song. It sounded very amateurish and his presence on the stage was boring at best. It looked like a very young girl at a county fair that was performing somewhere for her family and friends, but nothing deserved a scene worthy of the "Idol" scene. Did the nerves destroy it? She's better than that.

Madison VanDenburg [SAFE]

"You and I," Lady Gaga

Madison clearly had no idea how the series worked, as she was totally disoriented when Ryan told him that he wanted to see her after revealing that she was safe. She thought she was over for the night, but there is still a competition and it's not because you're safe now that you've won the series. She quickly took her rhythm and brought her usual energy to this song of Gaga, even if her effervescent tone did not correspond at all to the lyrics. She made it a vocal showcase and in the end she was overwhelmed by her own enthusiasm for the idea of continuing.

Walker Burroughs [SAFE]

"Lovebug", Jonas Brothers

From "The Sound of Music" to the Jonas Brothers, Walker definitely aims for a healthy image with these song choices. That put him in the top half of the US vote this week, and the combination was rather clever. This showed that he could be timeless and more current at the same time, even though he was surprisingly stronger in "Music" on Sunday night. It seemed like he was a little tired here and almost a bit creaky sometimes. But perhaps the most important thing for Katy Perry was the bucket of ice in Walker's hometown. Cheerios with honey and walnuts, vanilla ice cream and peanut butter.

Ashley Hess [DANGER]

"Sir Duke", Stevie Wonder

It was not Ashley's greatest performance, nor his best demonstration. She came out from behind the piano to try and give some energy to this classic Stevie Wonder, but she fell a little flat and it all ended up as repetitive and a bit boring. He lacked a real enthusiasm from his voice or his performance on stage. In the end, she even lost notes that she nailed normally without effort. Who has the idea to give them results in advance?

Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon [SAFE]

"Almost paradise", Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon

His recovery of the audition song was not so strong or so effective this time. It started warmer and actually got a little bit sharper towards the back third. It's still a powerful, beautifully written song, but it plays it better. Fortunately, that does not mean so much for its overall ranking. This proves well that he is an artist of good faith and a talent with a voice that could carve out a place of choice in the songwriter-performers market.

Alyssa Raghu [DANGER]

"The one who escaped", Katy Perry

After a very good performance on Sunday night, it is a little surprising that America has not had Alyssa's back any more, but we know the judges like her. It would have been nice if she could sing the whole song out loud, but she still brought a powerful quality to her overall performance. The song highlighted all the qualities of her voice, but she was not as strong as we expected from her. Probably the nerves and anxiety take over after discovering that she is in danger. Alyssa is one of the greatest classical voices of the competition and it would be a shame to lose her.

Laci Kaye Booth [SAFE]

"As long as you follow", Fleetwood Mac

Once again, Laci took an interesting song choice. She seemed to have some technical difficulties to get there, but she found her way in a few lines and gained her confidence. He could have used a little more power, but Laci remains one of the most talented artists in the world. She also has one of the most distinctive voices of the current Top 10. If she continues to make wise choices and stick to her own artistic vision, she can succeed.

Hardy wool [SAFE]

"Hurricane", the band of pagans

Now, it's a song in the wheelhouse of Wool. This corresponds to his voice, his style and his tone. It was a sweet jam and he was able to present the voice almost effortlessly. He is lucky because his voice is characteristic of his natural grated voice. So he is able to come out with a simpler voice because it makes it interesting, just because it is he who sings it. The song does not really go anywhere, but Laine still cements its idol status at every performance.

Evelyn Cormier [DANGER]

"The dust in the wind", Kansas

Evelyn knew that she had to sing for her life at this point and she certainly gave it all. It was a much better song choice for its unique vocal quality. She added a haunted quality to the song, which made it almost a ruckus. When Evelyn is on the right song, she hypnotizes and her voice grabs you and will not let you go. If she had done that Sunday night, she might not even be in that position.

Alejandro Aranda [SAFE]

"Cholo Love", Alejandro Aranda

As always, Alejandro is a unique visionary and his original songs have been convincing so far. It was nice to dive deeper into this secondary song that he had performed during his original audition. It is not quite as attractive to watch at the piano, but he arranges his music in a unique way, incorporating influences from all the music. As always, we look forward to everything under his hat.

Uche [DANGER]

"Diamonds", Rihanna

He is so good, we must have Uche in this competition, right? Whenever he goes on stage, he gives everything he has and is able to bring a compelling, rich and quality voice to the dancefloors, funk, soul and all the rest. Even more impressive, we think he's getting better every time and he still does not know how good he is or where he can go.

Wade Cota [SAFE]

"Simple Man", Lynyrd Skynyrd

What do you say to that? It was perfection from the first note. Wade knows who he is as an artist and his voice is unlike anything. At this point, he can not do any harm. Okay, we lied, he could work to push his range a bit, but do not joke too much with this beautiful instrument forged by the screamo. He lost his power here and there, but it was by joy and shock … again, why does not Idol make them happen before they get their results?

Dimitrius Graham [DANGER]

"When the party is over," Billie Eilish

America does not yet understand Dimitrius because he has not yet given us a clear vision of himself as an artist. It was a master class in vocal mastery. He effortlessly demonstrated his impressive range and deep passion, putting all his emotions into one of the most refined performances of the night. Obviously, he was not baffled to be at the bottom of the scale, but we suspect that Dimitrius is used to being neglected. We are not even sure that the judges will vote for him because it is so hard to pin down. Undeniable, it is his incredible voice.

RESULTS

If it were incumbent on us, we would be fighting between Uche, Dimitrius Graham, Evelyn Cormier and Alyssa Raghu. But in the end, Raghu would be the loser, because she's basically just a gorgeous and pretty voice, while the other three have built themselves into real artists with unique visions and approaches to music. But we know how much judges love their sauce.

The problem is that the United States only has two girls and the producers might not like it. That would be good news for Alyssa. In addition, judges like it anyway. Ashley also received a positive response from the judges. Therefore, if they are asked to think about women, girls are well placed.

But before Uche Having even finished hearing the judges' comments, Lionel jumped from his chair and propelled him into the Top 10. We were not crazy about it, as he was by far the strongest of competitors in danger.

Luke went on to admit that he was changing his mind before his final choice, but he understood well and placed the deserving Dimitrius Graham through. It seems that talent has triumphed over gender parity and for once we agree.

That left five competitors and a Katy Perry to make the last call. It was not a big surprise that the sauce was Katy's boss because she was on the Alyssa Raghu train all season. And we can not be angry either, because Alyssa has talent.

Honestly, there are no good results at this stage – or even here – because there is really a lot of talent. It will be difficult every week to see more people go home.

The bloodbath continues every week with "American Idol" aired on Sundays and Mondays at 20h. AND on ABC.
