A guy named Yuri Andrade, aka the Super Bowl streaker, stole the show when he ran down the field and gained more yards than the entire Kansas City Chiefs offense. He sprinted from the stands to the end zone in the fourth quarter of the game. Apparently, for the intruder from the field, there was more than just going viral and delaying the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory.
Andrade later revealed (via TMZ) that he was in line to win over $ 370,000 after his crazy stunt. The streaker put a bet of $ 50,000 on someone running around the field during the match via Bovada, which offered odds of +750. He even dragged a friend to cause a diversion so he could climb over the fences and run into the grill. Although he’s been arrested and charged with trespassing, it should be a small fine to pay if you’re about to make over a quarter of a million dollars.
Unfortunately, just like his brief stint on national television, Andrade’s successful victory was rather short-lived as Bovada officially called off his bet due to tampering.
“Our players have always trusted us to ensure the integrity of all accessories offered in our bookmaker,” a spokesperson for Bovada told Front Office Sports (via sportbible.com). “We will continue to make sure that advertising stunts or malicious behavior cannot harm a player’s bet outcome.”
Looks like Andrade hasn’t thought about his stunt. Besides the Super Bowl streaker missing his huge payment, he also had to post $ 500 bail to avoid jail time.
