The 2001 Super Furry Animals album Rings around the world gets a 20th anniversary reissue. The expanded edition of the album was released physically (on vinyl and CD) and in a first digital installment on September 2 (with a second digital installment on September 24) via BMG. The release features 75 songs unearthed from vaults, including unreleased clips, remixes, hidden sounds, and demos.

Among the merchandise is the isolated audio of Paul McCartney chewing carrots and celery with percussion on the song “Receptacle for the Respectable”. “He was going to come to the studio and then decided not to do it for some reason,” Cian Ciarán said in a statement. “So we sent him some stereo backing tracks so he could save time, and then he sent the tape back with a message that started with a really fishy Welsh accent. Then he says “Hope you like it” – next thing you know, you just heard that chewing sound! ”Listen to Paul McCartney’s chomps below.
