A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Leaker revealed why we haven’t seen one of the most requested DLC characters come to the Nintendo Switch game and Nintendo Switch Lite. Ahead of each Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character reveals, a few names are starting to go around and trending on Twitter, like Sora from Kingdom Hearts and Crash Bandicoot. Among these wanted characters is Geno, one of the main characters of Super Mario RPG: The Legend of Seven Stars.

Typically, unless your name is Waluigi, being a Nintendo character and in demand is enough to get you in. Super Smash Bros., but it was not enough for Geno. And according to the leak mentioned above, there are several reasons for this.

Speaking on the Japanese 5ch forum, the Anonymous Leaker – who gained credibility by “running away” from Steve from Minecraft and Hero of Dragon quest before they were announced – claimed that Nintendo was generally puzzled by the character’s request.

Elaborating, the Leaky claims Nintendo has heard fans out loud, but is confused as there appears to be an insignificant amount of support for a remake of Super Mario RPG: The Legend of Seven Stars or follow-up. Of course, Nintendo’s temperature check may be incorrect, depending on who you ask, but that’s what the leaker says is a topic of discussion at Nintendo when it comes to bringing Geno on board. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Continuing, Nintendo is apparently worried that Nintendo characters will become Smash characters, or in other words, characters known simply to be Smash. If this is true, it more or less means we won’t see Geno added before. Super Mario RPG is revived in a major war, which seems unlikely at this point.

That said, as always, take everything here with a grain of salt. Not only is nothing here official, but while everything is 100% true, everything is also subject to change.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is only available through Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch. For more coverage on the best-selling and critically acclaimed platform fighter of 2018 – including all the latest news, rumors and leaks – click here or check out the relevant links below:
