‘Superbly maintained’ McLaren F1 just went on sale – Robb report

The McLaren F1 is not only one of the most important supercars of all time, it is also one of the most exclusive. For this reason, serious collectors should act quickly on the rare occasions when one finds oneself to be winning.

Now one of those moments is upon us, as a red 1995 F1 has just been put up for sale by used supercar dealer Issimi. Better yet: this F1, one of seven ever sold in the United States, is in excellent condition.

Introduced in 1992, the speed machine designed by Gordon Murray changed the course of supercar history with its aerodynamic design and advanced technology, and is even considered by some enthusiasts to be the first hypercar. It’s easy to see why. Beneath its beautiful carbon fiber body sits a 6.1-liter BMW S70 / 2 V12 mated to a six-speed manual transmission that can produce 627 horsepower, 479 lb-ft of torque and a redline at 7,500 rpm. Almost three decades later, it’s still considered one of the best powertrains of all time.

This particular example is from the 1995 model year – the car was only in production from 1992 to 1998 – and has been “superbly maintained” since leaving the line, according to Issimi. It is finished in red and has an interior done in black with red accents which has enough room for you and two passengers. He has been through two owners in his lifetime, although the dealership did not reveal the exact odometer miles.
