Colorado supermarket worker slapped by customer after trying to enforce store mask warrant – and police are now sharing footage of the assault in hopes of seizing suspect before they cannot strike again.

Police said the aggravated buyer walked into a King Soopers in the town of Parker sometime before 6 p.m. on February 3, while ignoring the chain’s current face coverage requirements. He was asked “several times” to comply with the policy, but to refuse.

Images captured by the supermarket’s surveillance cameras show the woman exchanging words with a supermarket worker, who is seen lagging behind, presumably in an attempt to enforce the store’s hiding policy. The suspect stops abruptly in the middle of the aisle, abandons her cart and walks towards the employee. She then slaps the supermarket employee as she is escorted.

The suspect subsequently “fled the store” before she could be identified, according to the Parker Police Department.
King Soopers management has confirmed the woman is a “regular” at the store, but often refuses to wear a mask, saying she has a medical exemption, reports Fox 31. King Soopers, meanwhile, asks these customers to wear another face mask, such as a shield, or to take advantage of their pickup or delivery options.
Police said the victim is now hoping the unidentified buyer can be located and charged with harassment.
