Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins have announced that the genre drama will take place alongside "Arrow" during the 2019-2020 broadcast season.

It's really the end of an era at CW.

Supernatural, the original scripted oldest network, completes on the 15th season previously announced. Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins announced the announcement Friday on social media. Season 15 will include 20 episodes, tied with the current total.

"First of all, we would like to thank everyone who participated in the show in front of and behind the camera. For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we received from Warner Bros. Television and The CW was incredible. We would especially like to thank Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this trip so special. It is now important for us to give these characters the taste of emotion they deserve, "executive producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb said in a joint statement.

"Well, it's official." Another trick for the Winchester brothers. "Although nothing really ends in Supernatural … is that right?" Ackles wrote next to a video of the three stars in the series announcing the new Friday.

Supernatural is currently the oldest science fiction and genre series in the history of American television. The drama, created by Eric Kripke and produced by Warner Bros. TV, debuted on the former WB network and continued when the younger broadcaster became a joint venture between WBTV and CBS TV Studios to form The CW. It will have broadcast 327 episodes when it will end during the next season. This is the only show of the WB network era to stay alive.

Supernatural Impressive longevity has become a joke among the press and CW President Mark Pedowitz, who made his TCA debut in January with a nod to the recently announced 15th season renewal. "Now that Supernatural has been picked up, are there any other questions?" He was unmoved before adding that the series had been the scene of "almost all of our successful shows" because it had the most balanced audience in the network. Pedowitz often noted that Supernatural would work as long as Padalecki and Ackles would like to do the series. "As long as the odds are up and guys want to do it, we are here," the executive said in January. "It's as simple as that, they created something of these two brothers who had these discussions that transcend everything that happens … [I]"I could find a way to stay in place all the time, but it still holds and the studio can always understand how to do it – we are all in the loop."

Sources note that stars Padalecki and Ackles have used the series to launch an extremely successful business that has worked and has appeared at fan conventions dedicated to the beloved cult series. It is also said that the duo owns a plane that they use to shuttle between the set of the series in Vancouver and the conventions of the weekend, which can often be more profitable than the money it earns by participating to the series that helped launch their concert.

"We just told the team that even though we are very excited about the idea of moving on to our 15th season, it will be our last Fifteen years of a series that has certainly changed my life. I know it changed the lives of these two guys, and we just wanted you to hear that even if we're excited about next year, it's going to be the final, the grand and grand finale of an institution, " said Ackles. "I'm going to say this, a short note from Eric Kripke, the creator of this world and these characters, that in a show on the family, it's amazing and it's the pride of his life that it has become a family. Thank you guys. for that."

Supernatural currently averages 0.8 among advertisers' 18- to 49-year-old adults and 2.4 million viewers in total, seven days behind schedule. It still works better than more than half of The CW's lineup, including previously renewed series Black Lightning, legends of tomorrow and Arrow, the latter will also close the next season.

Pedowitz and The CW have tried at least three times to develop a spin-off of Supernatural in vain. Pedowitz conceded that he had probably finished doing so and attributed the success of the series to Padalecki and Ackles. Supernatural This is the gift that keeps coming back to WBTV, the independent studio taking advantage of the SVOD sale of over 300 episodes of the show to Netflix. The streaming business has, like other programs, helped to attract new viewers to first-run episodes on the linear network.

Supernatural and Arrow having officially ended during the 2019-2020 season, the CW begins a period of change after the network will bid farewell to critical favorites Jane the Virgin and Crazy ex-girlfriend this year. This pilot season, the CW is already advancing at full speed on the "next generation" of DC fare with a Ruby Rose Batwoman should be picked up at the series. The network is also looking to turn its other major shows into franchises with ramifications of Jane the Virgin (Jane the Novela anthology) and Riverdale's. Katy Keene.
