Support for VR Flight Simulator “ while working ” controller

Support for VR controllers for Microsoft’s Flight Simulator is “under development,” Eurogamer reports in an interview article.

Asobo Studio shipped support for VR headsets on December 22, but you’re limited to using a mouse + keyboard, gamepad, or flight stick. A stick is of course the perfect way to play, but it makes game setup and menu navigation a bit of a hassle to try.

The studio has yet to detail how VR controller support works. At a minimum, it should make it easier for you to navigate in-game menus with a laser pointer. Hopefully it also provides support for interacting with the cockpit controls directly with your hands – we’ve seen this before in games like VTOL VR & Aerofly FS 2.

In the Eurogamer interview, Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, also spoke of the efforts required for virtual reality to work properly: “With virtual reality, you have to be really disciplined. We found a lot of gigabytes, and it’s already a little better.

That said, we’ve heard plenty of reports of VR performance issues, even on the most high-end hardware. A game with a lot of items and fine details like this was never going to work on most PCs, but we’ll continue to test with each new patch to see if Microsoft can do some magic for users of. VR.
