GRAFTON, Wis. (WMTV) – The suspect in the case of intentionally spoiled vaccines won’t be billed until next week due to the holidays.

The 46-year-old Grafton man has been a pharmacist in Wisconsin for decades, according to WITI.

Police said they arrested him on Thursday on suspicion of reckless endangerment, tampering with a prescription drug and criminal damage to property. The department said in a press release that he was being held at the Ozaukee County Jail.

Dr Jeff Bahr, president of the Aurora Health Care medical group, said a pharmacist technician first discovered 57 vials of the vaccine outside the refrigerator on the morning of December 26.

At first, officials thought it was an accident. But the suspect later admitted to intentionally leaving them out.

“We were able to adapt very, very quickly to the situation as it arises. We were able to get additional vaccines from other sites in our system, ”Bahr said.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Security and Professional Services, the suspect has no record of previous investigations or disciplinary action.

He now faces multiple charges, including recklessly endangering first degree security.
