A flight to Newark Liberty International Airport was evacuated on the tarmac Saturday morning after a flight attendant noticed something "suspicious".

At approximately 7:45 am, a flight attendant from Flight 573 of JetBlue "identified a type of suspicious item" and then contacted the port authority police, said the spokesman of the AP, Rudy King. King could not provide details on the suspicious item.

Video posted on Twitter showed a line of police cars in an area near the gates and a bus parked to take passengers to the terminal. Other social media messages showed baggage lying on the ground under the plane.

A spokesman for JetBlue confirmed that the flight was due to leave Newark for Tampa, Florida. About 150 passengers were aboard the Airbus A320.

The passengers were driven to the door, said King, and the aircraft is being examined by K9 PAPD. The luggage will be re-filtered

The Federal Aviation Administration's website indicated that the most delayed airport traffic in the country was experiencing a blockage, that is all flights were being held at the gates instead of being allowed to taxi to the airport. track.
