A vehicle crossed a shopping mall in the suburbs of Chicago on Friday, police said.
The village of Shaumburg, Illinois, tweeted on Friday Police said that a vehicle had entered the Woodfield Mall via a pedestrian entrance and that someone was in custody.
"At the present time, there is no evidence of an active shooter situation," said the city.
NBC Chicago reported that an SUV seemed to be driving some distance inside the mall before stopping.
Some minor injuries were reported, according to a village spokesman.
Images and at least one social media video depicted an SUV in the mall.
Schaumburg is about 30 miles from Chicago.
A witness who stated that she was in the mall after the vehicle entered told NBC Chicago that people had started running and that some thought there was a gunman.
"I ran so fast," said the woman, not clearly identified. "I saw families carrying their kids and running."
