Isaiah Stokes, an actor who recently appeared in the hit series Power, has been charged with murder and other crimes in connection with a fatal shooting in Queens, NY
“The accused is accused of firing nearly eleven shots during this brazen afternoon shooting. Gun violence is all too prevalent in our neighborhoods. We will not allow this to become the problem. standard, ”Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement.
Stokes has appeared on a handful of popular TV shows since the mid-years, including Law and Order: SVU, Boardwalk Empire, Americans and Blue blood.
The 41-year-old was charged on Friday with three counts: second degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a second degree weapon. The shooting took place in February 2021.
According to a press release from the prosecutor’s office, CCTV footage places Stokes at the scene of the crime as he approached the driver’s side window of a car carrying victim, Tyrone Jones, 37. The actor reportedly fired 11 shots in the car. Jones died of his injuries.
Stokes is due to be brought to justice on Monday. If found guilty on all counts, he faces 25 years in life.
