SVU characters, ranked from worst to best

Law and Order: SVU is one of the oldest TV shows in prime time. The show was originally a spin-off of Law and orderbut at this point it has become more important than the original. And with so many characters over the last 20 seasons, it's impossible not to favor one over the other. But what do viewers generally think of each of the main characters in the series? Here are the top 10 SVU characters, classified.

10. Dominick Carisi

Detective Carisi is one of the new members of the cast. It does not have the reputation of longevity that some of the others SVU the detectives won. But Carisi is the most born detective of the history of the series in New York, that is why the series needs him. If he still had that terrible mustache, he probably would not have been in the top 10.

9. Amanda Rollins

Detective Rollins' personal life was a major sub-plot of the series and brings both a harsh attitude and a lot of drama to the Special Victim Services Unit. Rollins managed to get out of the darkest moments of his own life to become a winning part of the team. And for that, we applaud it.

8. Casey Novak

Casey Novak has been Assistant Attorney for many seasons and few people have done so. Novak's intelligence was hard to beat, but she also showed a level of compassion comparable to others. She was a woman standing all around.

7. Dr. George Huang

Dr. Huang was essentially the resident psychiatrist of the compound. He had previously worked with the FBI before going to the SVU. Huang had a serene attitude towards him that would bring even the toughest criminals to talk about things such as childhood trauma and their dark past. He was the voice of reason in the City and the detectives relied on him to help read the minds of many of their criminals. He was not only an essential part of the series, but also one of those characters that no one could dislike.

6. Nick Amaro

Detective Amaro did not join the series until the following seasons after Elliot Stabler left. It is sweet to the eyes, but we love it more than that. He dived after Stabler and put himself at ease in SVU. His personal life has earned him interesting secondary intrigues and his beauty has brought a different kind of entertainment to the show … we are just saying.

5. John Munch

Munch's sarcasm was immediately missed when he retired from the city. Detective Tutuola and he were a great team. Even though he's gone for several seasons, he will never be forgotten. He was easily the most appreciated detective simply because there was never any reason not to like him. He never raised his voice and was never too emotional, but that's what makes him such an important part of the show: he's always been the one who does not have a theater.

4. Alex Cabot

Alex Cabot was a model. She was fearless, no matter who she was fighting against. And no matter what SVU the fan can appreciate that. No character expressed himself as Cabot, and everyone was left to be fooled when she died, and then came back to life (or without witness protection, depending on your preference). She was one of those moody women that every show needs.

3. Elliot Stabler

There is so much to say about Elliot Stabler. He would be higher on the list if it was not for his intense anger when he questioned suspects, but other than that, he was almost perfect. He and Inspector Benson had a unique bond, and everyone would have really wished they would meet together. When he left the show, part of the show left with him – and even Detective Amaro's look could not replace it.

2. Odafin 'End' Tutuola

Detective Tutuola's attitude spoils the show like no other character could. His constant words make the viewers laugh, although his character is not necessarily funny. Tutuola is one of those friends everyone wants to have; he is loyal, tough and takes no bullshit. It's just as important in the series as Stabler and Benson.

1.Olivia Benson

The best character in the series may seem painfully obvious, but realistically, there would be no SVU without Olivia Benson. She is the heart of the riding; it is she who shows compassion but who also looks evil. She was kidnapped, she had a gun on her head and she keeps coming back for more. His character is more than a character; he is a person whom others can admire, despite the fiction of the series. She is the reason the series has been so successful, and it's hard to discuss that, no matter how you feel about it.
