The US State Department commented on the treatment reserved for A $ AP Rocky by the Swedish authorities after the arrest of the rapper in Stockholm for an alleged attack at the end of last month, announced a report.

US Secretary Mike Pompeo has been informed of the detention of A $ AP Rocky – his real name Rakim Mayers – while the rapper "A $ AP Forever" is currently being held in a Swedish prison, according to Politico.

"Some facts regarding the arrest and detention raise concerns," said a spokesman for the state department.

Rocky was in Stockholm for the Smash Music Festival on June 30 when an altercation took place.

Swedish prosecutors have until Friday to decide whether to prosecute the rapper or not.
