July update of Xbox One is released. It includes Fast Start, a patented technique that cuts by half the download time of a game until you can start playing it.
The technology, presented at the E3 in June, identifies the parts of the game most likely to run, and these are prioritized in the download. The games need to have a special bootable support for the technology to work, and as best as possible, the time between the start of the download and the start of the game can be halved. A download speed of at least 20 Mbit is also required, and currently only English games.
There are already technologies similar to the Xbox One and the Playstation 4. But Microsoft writes in an FAQ that an old technology requires effort and different game to game.
The compatible game is currently empty, but according to Polygon, there are now 23 compatible Fast Start games (17 on Xbox One, 3 on Xbox 360 and 3 on Xbox of origin).
