Several thousand people gathered today in front of the city hall of the Italian capital, Rome, to protest against the maturity of the city.
A strike among the sopra hatcher exacerbates the situation and the trash can overflow.
Critics say the city has been in bad shape for several years. Virginia Raggi, elected mayor in 2016, is to blame. She belongs to the populist Five Star movement.
Raggi came to power because of his general dissatisfaction with the corruption scandal in which the former government was involved – a mixture of traditional left and right parties.
Virginia Raggi had already promised to make arrangements to Oredan during his election campaign, but the protesters believe that she failed overall.
"We are here because we deserve better and because Rome has been neglected with such negligence that we have never seen before," said Marita Monaco, who participated in the protest.
Another protagonist, Salvatore Golino, says that he also protests against the mayor's catastrophic leadership. According to Golino, Rome has become "an open sewer, a scandal full of rats, foxes, boars and trash".
"We drown in the garbage and we do not stand out with that anymore!

Virginia Raggi is the first woman mayor of Rome. She defends herself that it needs more time to solve the many problems of the city.
She is also accused of abuse of authority in connection with an appointment and has promised to resign if she is convicted. The sentence will fall on November 10th.
