Next year, the usual plugs and plugs for ceiling lights will be the story of a new installation. But the question is whether it will be possible to buy unjustified replacement payments for older homes.
The decision to introduce new sockets and plugs for ceiling lights has already been made almost 10 years ago. On 1 April, the new EU common standard will enter into force.
The new connectors are called DCL, which means devices for fixture connections. The gift must be connected to the earth. As of April 1, all new light emitting devices must be manufactured with DCL.
In the same way, the old plugs must be connected to the ground during the new installation. But there will probably be many unfounded withdrawals in old houses. How many are hard to know.
– Succulents are more common than we would like. But unfortunately, I do not have precise figures on their frequency, "said Katarina Olofsson, inspector of market surveillance at the Swedish Security Agency.
The press release issued by the Swedish Security Agency lists three points relating to the installation of lamp connectors.
- The DCL plug should never be installed without ground.
- New installations for ceiling lights must be carried out with the new DCLs.
- In older factories, broken outlets of the old ungrounded model can be replaced by a corresponding point of sale as long as the product remains on the market.
The last point contains vague wording, "as long as the product remains on the market". The explanation is that the Swedish Elstandard (SEK) is currently revising the old standard. In the proposal that is now on referral, the old ungrounded outlets and plugs remain. Katarina Olofsson hopes that they will stay there too.
"So it's hard to be very specific about what's going to happen, and we hope that all unfounded outlets will stay in. But the standard is not over," says Katarina Olofsson.
What happens if it is not allowed to sell unsold withdrawals from the old model?
– The right solution will be to put all the space. But I think that people will solve the problem in another way: by installing it as a donor of the DCL, even if there is no land. After a while, he passes to another person who does not know that the decision is not grounded. It will be a security balance, she says.
Katarina Olofsson hopes that the update of the old standard will be put in place soon enough before April 1st of next year.
