"Last year, only half of the health professionals in the Uppsala region took the vaccine, despite the possibility of doing it for free at work.This figure is far too low and, together with the hospitals and the health centers, we are now trying to increase this proportion.The person in care must be protected, in his or her best interest and for the patients, "said Helen Palmgren.
In the case of the public, the flu vaccine is free for anyone in a risk group. As a group at risk, all people over 65 years of age, women in late pregnancy, diabetics, children with multiple disabilities, adults and children diagnosed with heart disease, pulmonary disease such as, severe asthma and severe immune defenses are included.
People who do not belong to any risk group are also invited to be vaccinated at a surcharge.
